Build Brand GrowView website concept
Prepared for Chatta-Cakes Bakery

A Chattanooga favorite deserves a digital storefront that works just as hard.

Website and social media analysis, a conversion-focused concept, and a three-level growth proposal from Build Brand Grow.

Real strengths: a memorable story, broad product range, and loyal local reputation.
Immediate risk: customers encounter broken or buried conversion paths.
Best opportunity: turn existing demand into clear calls, inquiries, orders, and repeat visits.

Website analysis

The site has good ingredients.
The recipe needs rebuilding.

This was a public-page audit of the current website, indexed pages, mobile output, local listings, delivery paths, and visible search structure. Private analytics and account data were not available.

Live mobile baseline

Speed is not the main problem.

A Lighthouse run was healthy overall. The bigger leak is what visitors see, understand, and can do once the page loads.

Best Practices100
01
Critical priority

The site makes customers hunt for the next step.

What we verified

The homepage has no primary Order, Quote, or Cake Inquiry action. The visible phone link returns to the homepage, and the Contact-page number is plain text.

Why it matters

A customer ready to buy can reach a dead end instead of calling, ordering, or requesting a cake.

Build Brand Grow fix

Persistent Call to Order, Request a Custom Cake, Get Directions, and verified Order Delivery actions—built for thumbs first.

02
High priority

Mobile puts housekeeping before the product.

What we verified

The published mobile layout is fixed at 320px wide. Product imagery begins roughly 1,432px down; the phone appears around 2,376px.

Why it matters

The first screen explains closures and hours before it shows why someone should choose Chatta-Cakes.

Build Brand Grow fix

Lead with product proof, location, and the fastest buying paths. Move closures into one compact announcement.

03
High priority

Navigation speaks like a file cabinet, not a customer.

What we verified

The main labels are Home, In Store, Other, Contact, and About. “Other” is only tiered-cake transport guidance, while Menu, Birthdays, and Graduations are orphaned.

Why it matters

Visitors and search engines cannot quickly find custom cakes, weddings, cookies, flavors, policies, or how to order.

Build Brand Grow fix

Rebuild around intent: Menu, Custom Cakes, Weddings & Events, Gallery, About, FAQ, and Contact.

04
High priority

Local search signals are inconsistent.

What we verified

Outside listings still show an old 3904 Hixson Pike address, a transposed street number, a wrong ZIP, and even a different phone number.

Why it matters

Conflicting business information weakens trust and can dilute local-search visibility.

Build Brand Grow fix

Standardize the current 5143 Hixson Pike listing, correct duplicates, and align site schema, directories, hours, and phone.

05
Medium priority

A great story and strong reputation are buried.

What we verified

The About page still says the bakery has been open “about two and a half years,” despite opening in 2013. The site shows no reviews, owner names, press, or organized portfolio.

Why it matters

The current experience understates more than a decade of craft, community trust, and family history.

Build Brand Grow fix

Put “family-owned since 2013,” the bluebird story, customer proof, current work, and community credibility into the buying journey.

06
Medium priority

Search and accessibility foundations need cleanup.

What we verified

The homepage uses 11 H1 headings, audited pages lacked meta descriptions, 19 of 23 homepage images had empty alt text, and key controls were unnamed.

Why it matters

The content hierarchy is harder for search engines, screen readers, and customers to understand.

Build Brand Grow fix

One clear H1 per page, unique titles/descriptions, descriptive alt text, named controls, logical headings, and 44px touch targets.

Social media analysis

Make every post answer one question: “What should I do next?”

Chatta-Cakes has an identifiable Instagram presence and visual products people naturally want to share. What is missing is a consistent bridge from attention to calls, custom inquiries, delivery orders, and store visits.

Competitive benchmark

Local competitors make buying easier before the first conversation.

Chatta-Cakes does not need to copy another bakery. It does need the digital basics customers now expect from businesses competing for the same occasions.

The lane to own: Hixson’s family bakery for one-of-a-kind celebration cakes and same-day grab-and-go joy—with a personal bluebird story no competitor can borrow.

From audit to proof

We did not stop at telling you what is wrong.

We built a customer-facing concept to show the stronger hierarchy, warmer storytelling, mobile actions, product paths, and local personality in context.

Open the website concept
Thumb-first actions for custom orders, directions, and everyday treats
Customer-intent structure instead of vague navigation labels
Local-search foundation built around what Hixson customers actually look for
A brand story people remember without losing the bakery’s laid-back warmth

Clear terms, no funny business

The credit rewards the full partnership.

01

How the credit works

The listed development fee is credited in full when the 12-month agreement is signed. One-twelfth of that credit is earned after each paid service month.

02

If the agreement ends early

If Chatta-Cakes ends for convenience or materially defaults before month 12, only the unearned portion of the development credit becomes due. Future monthly retainers are not accelerated.

03

Month-to-month option

The listed development fee applies: 50% at signing and 50% before launch. The first monthly service payment is also due at signing.

04

After the initial term

Service continues month to month at the quoted rate, cancellable with 30 days’ written notice. Any price change requires 60 days’ notice.

Scope guardrails

Ad spend, paid-ad management, printing, domain/email and third-party fees, custom POS/API development, inventory support, weekend event coverage, and travel beyond 25 miles of downtown Chattanooga are not included. Extra approved work is $125/hour. No search ranking, follower, lead, or sales result is guaranteed. The final service agreement and order form control scope and payment terms.
